Time is our true and only wealth: it is that thing which, as long as we can still perceive its passing, allows us to affirm to ourselves that we still exist, that we are not yet dead.
In recent times, from the early 2000s onwards, we have all found ourselves living in a spiral of events increasingly distant from what once, perhaps, we could have called normality.
The context in which the last two generations are growing up is marked by a continuous succession of events that are instilling in them a sense of insecurity and uncertainty that, as Jean Twenge points out in her renowned book iGen, was absent in previous generations. A state of ongoing economic emergency, a global pandemic, an imminent climate crisis whose consequences are impossible to foresee, a war on Europe’s doorstep threatening the use of weapons of mass destruction – all remind us that the balance of our lives hangs by a thread, in an uncertain and fragile way, entirely dependent on decisions made by distant people we will never meet or know.
Momenti Tesi stems from this reflection on our present time and on the state of this continuum, represented by a single rope that runs through the clock tracing the hours, and ends in a noose – a delicate and fragile stability in which we are all immersed, without yet knowing for how much longer.

Il tempo è la nostra vera e unica ricchezza che abbiamo: è quella cosa che, riuscendone ancora a percepire lo scorrimento, ci permette di affermare a noi stessi che ancora esistiamo, che ancora non siamo morti.
Nella recente attualità, dai primi anni 2000 in poi, tutti noi ci siamo ritrovati a vivere in una spirale di eventi sempre più lontani da quella che una volta, forse, potevamo chiamare normalità.
Il contesto in cui le ultime due generazioni stanno crescendo, è caratterizzato da un continuo susseguirsi di avvenimenti che stanno instillando dentro di loro un senso di insicurezza e indeterminazione che, come sostiene Jean Twenge nel suo celebre libro Iperconnesi, risulta assente nelle precedenti generazioni. Uno stato di emergenza economica continua, una pandemia globale, una crisi climatica imminente di cui non si riescono a immaginare le conseguenze, una guerra alle porte d’Europa che paventa l’utilizzo di armi di distruzione di massa, fanno ricordare a tutti noi che l’equilibrio delle nostre vite è appeso a un filo in modo incerto e strettamente dipendente da scelte compiute da persone lontane, che mai conosceremo e incontreremo.
Momenti Tesi nasce da questa riflessione sul tempo attuale e sullo stato che questo continuum, rappresentato da un’unica corda che percorre l’orologio disegnandone le ore e che termina con un cappio, altro non è che una delicata e fragile stabilità in cui tutti noi siamo immersi, senza sapere ancora per quanto.
