NOTES
This work was created using an ordinary painter’s drop cloth, in a clear and deliberate reference to the aesthetic of Jackson Pollock. The American artist, who became a symbol of Western creative freedom, was indirectly promoted by the U.S. government during the Cold War as a tool of cultural propaganda. Without either the public or Pollock himself being aware, his work was used to affirm American ideological supremacy. In doing so, art became a means of manipulation, deeply altering the natural course of cultural discourse.

NOTE
Per la realizzazione di quest’opera è stato impiegato un comune telo da imbianchino opportunamente lavorato, in un chiaro e consapevole richiamo all’estetica di Jackson Pollock. L’artista americano, divenuto simbolo della libertà creativa dell’Occidente, fu promosso indirettamente dal governo statunitense durante la Guerra Fredda come strumento di propaganda culturale. Senza che né il pubblico né lo stesso Pollock ne fossero consapevoli, la sua opera venne utilizzata per affermare la supremazia ideologica americana. Così facendo, l’arte divenne terreno di strumentalizzazione, alterando profondamente il naturale corso del dibattito culturale.
